About Too Busy Earning
About
Too Busy Earning is a financial independence resource for professional women who are earning well — and ready to make that income work harder than they do.
Written by R. Elisabeth Vines, a UK-trained family physician now practising in Canada, this publication sits at the intersection of medicine, money, and autonomy. The premise is simple: high-earning professional women are underserved by mainstream financial content. Most of it is written for someone else — by someone else.
Too Busy Earning exists to close that gap.
About R. Elisabeth Vines
I am a practising family physician, an incorporated small business owner, and someone who is actively engineering my own financial independence — in real time, in Canada, as an immigrant who built this from scratch.
I write about what I am living: corporate structures, tax-efficient investing, the psychology of money, and the practical mechanics of building wealth on a physician's timeline. I do not write theory. I write from experience, with the same rigour I bring to clinical practice — evidence-based, direct, and without unnecessary complexity.
My particular focus is the Canadian context — TFSA, RRSP, incorporation, index investing — which remains significantly underserved in the financial independence space, particularly for women.
If you are a professional woman who has spent years prioritising your career and is now asking what financial independence actually looks like in practice — this publication is for you.
What You Will Find Here
- Long-form financial education — written for intelligent adults who do not need to be talked down to
- Canadian-specific content — incorporation, tax strategy, registered accounts, provincial nuance
- The FIRE framework applied practically — not as aspiration, but as an actionable roadmap
- Honest numbers — I share my own financial thinking, not sanitised case studies
